These photos occur in subject series. The Sierra Nevada mountain range can be seen from multiple perspectives – east and western sides. From the west - the photos series of the Crystal Range Mountains and The Emigrant Gap are taken from my California foothills home. From the east - the desert series were taken en route to Mono Lake which lies on the eastern side of the . The lake photos range from the Desolation Wilderness to Yosemite. Other locations and series are noted in the image descriptions.

Morning mists linger in the canyons of the Emigrant Gap
Emigrant Gap Series - it rained all night. The moisture flowed through the canyons like finger of fog as the sun began to break above the horizon. Cisco butte - the half-dome-like peak, rightof center, marks the passage of the trail through 'The Gap' to Donner Lake and the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Loch Leven Lake, Nevada County CA
Landscape Folder - Loch Leven Lakes offers three levels of granduer - Lower Loch Leven, Middle Loch Leven and High Lock Leven. Ironically, the lower lake is the highest altitude and High Loch Leven is down hill from Lower and Middle Lock Leven. Go figure.
This is a tributary of the Middle Loch Leven. All three offer great swimming, great campsites and stunning views.

The Long Branch Saloon, Luning, Nevada - 2005
Retired US Navy Chief Dick Hegg began running the Longbranch Saloon in 1971. This photo was taken in 2005. Dick passed away in 2008. Located in Lunig, NV, whose population varies from 35 to 95 but usually leaning towards the former, the Long Branch remains a small time legend among photographers and historians.
